So the ACPO crime chief is concerned that the British Crime Survey, is not accurate. Well Whoopey Doo! Who cares?
I think he is just trying to get himself, another job. Chief in charge of re-counting, the incalculable!
What does it matter, what figures they use? Someone, will always be able to prove they are innaccurate.
When will our leaders, stop worrying about statistics? They will show, whatever you want them to show!
If you don't like the number of crimes, get Tom Cruise in to detect them all, before they are even committed!

The British Crime Survey figures are compiled from interaction with the public. A bit like the, 'do you use persil or daz?' statistics. 50,000 people were questioned last time, but I have never been asked.
They do not include information from any victim aged under 16yrs or any victim who has been murdered, (can't question a dead man) or any large 'commercial' victim such as Tesco or Asda.
The BCS only covers victimisation of adults in England and Wales aged 16 and over. The Offending Crime and Justice Survey covers the personal victimisation of children and young people (aged 10 to 25).
The main source of information on crime against commercial targets is the Commercial Victimisation Survey (CVS). This is a survey of crime against small and medium-sized retail and manufacturing premises in England and Wales.
With at least three different bodies collecting crime statistics, no wonder there is confusion.
The question is this . If The Govt use the BCS figures why do the Police have to submit details to them as well.
